Bindi Irwin
Bindi Irwin is only 13 years old and is already an international award-winning celebrity.
Born to enthusiastic wildlife conservationists Steve and Terri Irwin, Bindi was just 3 years old when she made her television debut with her proud dad on The Crocodile Hunter Diaries.
By the age of 9, Bindi had appeared on numerous American chat-shows, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Oprah and Larry King Live.
Bindi launched her very own TV show, Bindi: The Jungle Girl, which won an Emmy in 2008 and was nominated for an Emmy again in 2009.
She has just finished filming her latest series, Bindi’s Boot Camp for ABC3, which will go to air in July of this year.
Bindi has also starred in Free Willy 4, Escape from Pirate’s Cove, and will later this year appear as Nim in the sequel to Nim’s Island.
In 2007, Bindi was awarded two Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards: Fave Aussie and Biggest Greenie. And was, along with her brother Robert, recently awarded the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Biggest Greenies. They accepted this award together and dedicated it to their father Steve, and the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve.
Bindi has also performed at special events such as ‘G’Day USA’ at the Music Centre in LA and the New York City Centre in 2007.
In 2008, Bindi won a Logie for ‘Most popular new female talent’ and in 2009 she was nominated for an ARIA (Australian Record Industry Award).
